Steps in the Right Direction

This week has brought new realizations and understandings of the vast world of analytics, as well as direction to take.

Research Developments

Business analytics, data analytics, or data sciences- whichever one might define it as- has been seen as something that is valuable enough to any company. While often a job for a small group, it can provide much needed input on the next steps of a business. This week's research enlightened me on unique aspects and descriptions of this job that were much needed in order to make progress.

The importance of A.I. and algorithms cannot be overstated, as it helps eliminate much possibility for human error or bias. Learning more about the most important programs would be a helpful aid to gaining more knowledge individually. This also provides an idea for a final product, as researching or innovating new ways to apply it to a business has the potential to serve as a purposeful and helpful tool.

Planning for the Professionals

With a resume in the making, a suit ordered, and interview questions written, I feel I am one step closer to meeting professionals and acting as one myself. The thought is frightening, however exciting it may be. Research is one thing, putting it into practice is something entirely different and foreign. This marks the difference between ISM and any other class I may take in my high school career, the taking it to the next step. There is much promise of new ideas and exciting perspectives in the near future!
