Packing the Bag

What does every big journey start with? The answer is not a single step, although close. In reality, every adventure starts with packing your suitcase.

Every good project or goal starts with packing that figurative bag, taking steps to prepare for what comes ahead. In this case, pre-research and a mental deep breath are needed to begin the journey of ISM. Let's start with the basics.

Analytics is defined as the communication and analysis of collected data. Taking it one step further, business analytics involves having understanding of prevalent data, statistics, and systems in taking this knowledge and applying and interpreting it for organizations or individuals. Put simply, business analytics is finding the "why" to simple analytics. This field is essentially an amalgamation of management, computer science, and business. It can be implemented in any business or field to figure out applicable trends and predictive models to help plan out the future.

After going through a handful of simple sources with these ideas I have a better understanding of the field as a whole, important systems, and how it can be applied in a job. With a bag packed, I feel more prepared for the journey ahead.
