Learning and Connecting

I have planted my feet and am digging into the topic of analytics. This week, I have learned about new developments and perspectives about the vast capabilities of machine learning and algorithms. These can work to understand external factors regarding clients or consumers, as well as understanding the inner workings of a business regarding employee productivity and satisfaction.

Many of my learnings are being connected back to my AP Statistics class, where similar formulas and terminology are used. Each parallel bout of information I find serves to increase my excitement and curiosity. Both ISM and Statistics are allowing me to understand more and more about this field and each research source I find is becoming increasingly comprehendable. Knowing that I am actively learning about such a relevant part of this field motivates me to keep learning and maintain curiosity.

Dress for Success

This week marks another milestone: I have gotten my first suit. While I do own nice pants and blazers, I now own an official suit (with an official price tag) , that pairs together and fits properly. Wearing it solidifies the professional nature of this class and what comes ahead. The ISM Business Symposium is in only 17 days, after all, therefore I need to be prepared both physically and mentally to network with real professionals.
