A Week of Affirmation - Cementing the Journey

This week did not offer any life-changing facts about my topic of interest, however it has strengthened my resolve for the topic. I had an opportunity to speak to someone whose team involves data analytics this week. After explaining my career path of interest, I was surprised to hear that someone I knew worked has in this field all along. Sitting on a half hour call affirmed that I am on the right track with my research. Hearing mentions of different projects and examples that analysts work on was not only exciting, but lined up with what I have been seeing.

Finding research sources in the business field has proven to be a challenge. Business can be applied to any company or field and it is much more subjective than the sciences. This has resulted in a struggle to find relevant and interesting projects that apply to what I am looking to learn. With one single phone call, I am once again reassured of any lingering doubts and set on the right track again.

Creating an official topic proposal has also allowed me to solidify my ideas and interests on paper, another step cementing my research on this journey. Possible final products continue to plague my mind and I await until I have the opportunity to meet with a professional and discuss my ideas.
