A Refresh and Reset

I had the treat of having no school during the week of Thanksgiving. This gave me an opportunity to catch on interview assessments and any classwork I had forwent while on the search for interviews. This break was a wonderful reset to the constant piling up of assignments each week. With a refresh under my belt, I am fresh and ready for the next few weeks of ISM.

These weeks will no doubt be busy. I began officially working on my original work, which is a trend and solution analysis of the fashion industry. Certain research sources have proved difficult to use. Statista has wonderful banks of data, however I'd have to pay to look at more than one graph or topic a day, limiting me greatly. My next step is to look at Google Analytics and understand what I can access from there. Using school resources, I cannot access it, therefore I will need to use my personal email and laptop to inquire about this source.

I feel the planning stage is going to be the most difficult. There are large, large banks of data all over the internet and otherwise. To choose what aspects specifically I will focus on is difficult, since I would love to write about everything. I love reading about trends and forecasts, I could listen to someone talk about it all day. Having to parse out information and choose a select few aspects in order to make an organized, digestible report is proving to be a challenge. I tend to pick up information as I go in order to create reports, presentations, and research papers and create main themes at the end. Due to the sheer amount of data available, I will not be able to use this method (which clearly wasn't a very efficient method to begin with). My indecisiveness does not aid me in making this choice.

However, I'm glad that my inability to choose is birthed from excitement and interest, rather than apathy toward the topic as a whole. I have very few opportunities to work on a project that is genuinely, all-around enjoyable to me, so I know that I will have a wonderful (if somewhat stressful) experience creating my original work.
